Joy is in the air as the management of Akwa Ibom Polytechnique(Akwa Poly) Ikot Osura has finally concluded its two months strike. Read this article for more details on this and other related stories;

The industrial action embarked upon by members of NASU and SSANIP in the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua has been suspended.

The two months old strike which crippled academic activities in the state-owned Polytechnic was embarked upon by Non-Academic unions operating in the institution.

Less than a week since resumption as Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution, Dr. Samuel Edet has breathed a fresh air on the state Polytechnic which has renewed hope as workers resume from the two months strike.

Yesterday, leadership of the Unions entered an agreement with officials of the state government led by the Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Ekereobong Akpan, and the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Unyime Usoro and the Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution, Dr. Samuel Edet to suspend the two months old strike.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, both parties resolved to forward the report of the committee on harmonization of schemes of service in tertiary institutions to the Polytechnic’s management for implementation.
