The OAU declares a mandatory end-of-year break for students.

OUA declares mandatory end-of-year rest for students | The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OUA), Ile-Ife, reported the break of the year to the majority of the university students. See more details below;

The OAU declares compulsory rest at the end of the year for students

The decision to allow students to take a break, with immediate effect, was taken at an emergency meeting of the University Senate Tuesday, December 5, 2017, to assess the situation on campus after the national industrial strike. The non-academic staff Union (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and the National Association of Academic Technicians (NAAT), on the alleged disparity in the disbursement of the accumulated provision to all staff unions.

Students were advised to leave the school residences before Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.

As a result, the general public, especially the parents/guardians of the university students were invited to take note of this latest development and to ensure that their children and wards comply with this Directive.

Students are expected to resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, classes begin on Wednesday, January 3.
